Disciplinary Procedures

In the unlikely event of a member of the Guernsey Paragliding Club operating outside the rules of the club, other club members would, in the first instance, discuss the requirement of compliance with the pilot concerned.

Such action could be justified for behaviour which;

  • is deemed unsafe for the pilot or members of the public.

  • may damage the reputation of other Guernsey Paragliding Club members.

  • jeopardises club use of a site.

  • threatens the loss of permissions granted by the Public Services and the Environment Department, the Guernsey Police, or other local authorities and special interest groups.

Further action would involve reporting the problem to the Director of Civil Aviation with the subsequent possibility of the removal of paragliding permission for the individual.

The BHPA rarely becomes involved in disciplinary matters but may rescind a pilot’s membership.
